Statistics Department Montserrat has released the figures for tourist arrivals for the first half of 2016.
Overall arrivals for the year to date are up by more than 2000. However, what is evident is that the absence of the ferry has resulted in significant loss to the day trip market. Only 30 visitors in June were listed as day trippers. Looking at the visitor trend, Montserrat’s monthly arrival figures were on their way up until the loss of the ferry in April when compared to the same period in 2015.
